"I Felt a Funeral, in my Brain" by Emily Dickinson
This poem seems as though the author is trying to express a depressing image, like someone was trying to put her into a bad mood because of how different this is. It seemed like she tried to express how a person can be dead inside though is still living. Say for instance a person was to lose their job and failed in their marriage that would then force the person into a state of depression, this then proves that a person can be dead or think their life does not mean a thing and is still a living being. Near then end it sounded like she was trying to find her sanctuary, a place she can escape which, her haven or in this case what is described as "heaven."
Poetry is Different...
Poems seem surreal, a different outer worldly experience. Though I can try to analyze it I know that I can never experience what the author felt at the time because we are all completely different though we are all humans that can feel multiple emotions. Poetry can be a fun experience when reading but when forced it can be a very ill experience. This year has been my first encounter with poetry for a long period of time and I believe that it is going to be difficult to understand the contents of some but at the same time I want to challenge myself into doing something different so I am willing to try learning about poetry.
